Why Oceania Northwest?
Our Oceanian family - our Melanesian, Micronesian and Polynesian communities have grown rapidly in Washington (Coast Salish territories) as the highest growing racial group (NH/PI) according to the US Census in 2020. We are Indigenous Oceanians whose ancestors are the greatest of ocean navigators.
Due to systemic racism rooted in data collection, and the allocation of federal funding, NH/PIs have been deemed invisible and under-resourced in the past century. Our infrastructures of care in North America have experienced significant chronic under-investment. When disaggregated as a unique Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander (NH/PI) grouping, we see tremendous disparities that our people face across all structural and social determinants of health factors compared to other racial groups.
Our Mission
Oceania Northwest equips Pacific Islanders and other most impacted communities through leading community health initiatives, creating village healing spaces, and offering meaningful social, educational, legal and economic stabilization support.
Our Vision
We uplift the power of unity in Pasifika communities to build thriving networks of care for generations to come. We are here. We do not believe in cancel culture. We are rooted instead in Indigenous cycles of relational restoration and healing.
Our Values
"Our Values" encapsulate our essence: UNITY binds us as one people, one soul, one destiny, while HOSPITALITY ensures all are embraced in our village's warm embrace. In our community, BELONGING is as vast as the ocean, RESPECT is the thread weaving our intergenerational nets, and HERITAGE guides us with ancestral wisdom as we journey forward.
Oceania Northwest’s network is committed to the care of our peoples through dedicated programs focused on healing & wellness as we continue to combat systemic erasure and racism and offer up meaningful solutions to create villages of care for Oceanians living in Snohomish, King & Pierce counties.

Oceania Northwest is a 501c3 Nonprofit
Oceania Northwest acknowledges that we live and work on stolen Coast Salish land. We recognize the land stewardship of all Indigenous people since time immemorial and the disruption of this work by white colonization. We are aligned to efforts in supporting Indigenous sovereignty in the Pacific Northwest as we also fight for Indigenous sovereignty over our home, Oceania.
